Click any asset — on a session board or in your Library — and it opens in the lightbox: a full-size view with everything you can do to that asset gathered in one panel. From here you can read its details, export it, and edit or transform it without leaving the page.
Opening and moving between assets
Open — on a board, hover an asset and click View; in the Library, just click the asset
Move between assets — step through the other results with the on-screen navigation (the counter shows your place, e.g. 1 / 8)
Close — press Esc or click the close button to return to where you were
Asset details
The Details section gives you the essentials at a glance — file type, resolution, file size, date created, who created it, and any labels. Add labels here to keep assets organized and easy to find later.
Export
Use the Export controls to take the asset out of Layer:
Download — save the original file
Copy image / Copy link — grab the asset to paste, or a shareable link to it
Download as… — choose a format (PNG, JPEG, or PSD) and adjust dimensions before saving
Downloads are free — they don't cost Creative Units.
💡 Exporting more than one at a time. Select multiple assets on the board or in the Library and use the same Export action to download them together, instead of opening each one individually.
Edit & transform
This is where the lightbox really earns its place: a stack of AI-powered tools that act on the asset in place. Click any tool to open its controls, then Generate.
Edit the image
Prompt edit — describe a change in words and regenerate
Draw — sketch directly on the image to guide an edit, then describe it
Inpaint — paint over an area and describe what should replace it
Reframe — change the aspect ratio; AI fills in the new space
Image adjustments — fine-tune brightness, contrast, saturation, and temperature, applied directly to the asset (instant — no generation)
Change lighting — relight the scene by direction, brightness, and color
Change camera angle — see your subject from a new angle
Prep & convert
Upscale — increase the resolution
Vectorize — convert to a scalable vector
Remove background — isolate the subject
Split into layers — separate the image into editable layers
Take it further
Create variant — generate fresh variations of the asset
Turn into video — animate the image into a clip
Turn into 3D model — convert it into a 3D mesh
💡 Your originals are safe. Any tool with a Generate button produces a new asset rather than overwriting the one you started with — so you can branch and experiment freely, and every result is saved to your Library. (The one exception is Image adjustments, which applies your tweaks directly to the current asset.)
📘 Don't worry about picking a model. Each AI tool preselects a capable model for the job (you'll see it named on the tool, like GPT Image 2 for a prompt edit). You can swap it if you have a preference — see Base Models for what each one is good at.
