🎯 How to Use Layer for Hidden Object Game Content - Part 2

In this article we continue to dive into hidden object genre and this time we created items, UI elements, full UI mockups as well as characters

B. Hidden Object Elements

Use Case: Produce hundreds of discoverable objects that fit each theme and are easy to batch-generate.

How to use Layer:

  1. Use one of your environment assets that you generated in Prompt Edit with using a prompt.

Example prompt :: “create a 4x4 (can vary) small item sheet from this environment”

2. Use batch generation to rapidly produce prop variations (size, angle, lighting).

Example Prompt: create new bathroom items suitable for an antique victorian bathroom setting, use the same format

Example Prompt: create a living room themed items in the same format

Example Prompt : render these items in Christmas theme

3. Render the items solo by specifying the item you want in your prompt.

Example Prompt: render the table solo and make the background beige.

4. Use the same prompt for any asset.

5. Batch edit assets by using them in Prompt Edit. You can upload up to 10 images.

Prompt: Make the assets halloween themed

Prompt: Make the assets Easter themed

Prompt: make the assets blue-green themed

6. Favorite outputs using Favorites option in sessions, you can filter them under activity feed also for tracking and reuse.


C. UI & Gameplay Elements

Use Case: Design interface and interaction elements that feel immersive yet functional.

How to use Layer:

Generate UI prototype using Prompt edit.

  1. Main Menu UI

Prompt : add a mobile game UI title screen suitable for the hidden object mobile game, make the UI elements with brass golden outline, make the title " Casebook: Murder at Evermere Manor`' and make a brass background for the title

2. Load Screen

Prompt : create a loading screen for this game, remove the title, create a new scene including a closeup to a victorian table with a magnifying glass and letters

3. Inventory UI

Prompt : create a brass golden ornate outlined inventory UI over this game scene and make it rectangular and place it at the bottom of the screen, put the puzzle solving items into the UI boxes, add a backpack icon to the left of the inventory box and put a magnifying glass icon to the right side

Tip: separate the UI elements afterwards and get individual renders and do a Remove Background or Download Without Background.

Tip: Maintain consistency via Templates (e.g., Button Set, HUD Pack) with one reference image provided.

Prompt : create a button 4x4 set for a hidden object mobile game related to this UI, create the start logo, pause logo, resume logo, back logo, exit logo, home logo, main menu logo, settings logo, save logo, load logo and continue logo

  • Use Batch Editor to recolor or localize multiple UI items at once.

  • Use batch retheme template to add christmas theme (live ops focus)

D. Characters & Narrative Illustrations

Use Case: Bring stories and scenes to life with expressive, style-aligned character art.

How to use Layer:

  • Train or upload custom LoRA models for recurring characters.

  • Create new characters using the style in 2D Forge with a prompt

Hint : Setting up an art style description as Suffix in the style settings can help with art style consistency.

Prompt: Wealthy merchant’s wife, plump, rosy cheeks, jewelled gown, holding a small purse, standing gracefully. Art style is a full-body portrait of a character in a semi-realistic digital art style, slightly stylized but with realistic proportions and anatomy. Smooth, soft shading with subtle highlights and shadows, creating volume and depth. Clean edges without harsh outlines. Rich, natural color palette with harmonious tones, realistic skin textures and fabric details. Clothing has visible textures and folds, accurate material representation (silk, wool, cotton). Character poses are natural and confident, facial expression subtle and approachable. Background plain white or minimal to focus on the character. Polished and professional look, suitable for game or concept art character sheet.

  • Generate a character portrait using Prompt Edit.

Prompt: Render this character in a close up portrait shot.

  • Create a character with various facial expressions.

Prompt: change her expressions to angry / sad / laughing / tired / mischievous

  • Use image-to-image to create outfit or pose changes.

Prompt: replace the gown with the reference outfit

  • Create the character in various poses and environments

Prompt: create this character

  • holding a notebook and jotting down observations in a cluttered ancient mansion environment

  • kneeling to examine a clue on the ground in a cluttered ancient mansion environment

  • leaning over a crime scene marker with a flashlight in an ancient mansion environment

  • Combine characters with scene backdrops for story cut-ins or visual novel moments by using the characters as reference.
