Add/Remove details by selections

Sometimes a raw Forge output may have deformities or unwanted artefacts. To fix these, you can easily change any area of your image by selecting and forging.

How do I make a selection?

Layer provides 2 tools for selection: Lasso and Marquee

1. Lasso

Lasso tools is a freehand selection tool. You can pick any part of your image:

  • Hit L to enable lasso selection

  • Hold SHIFT to add to your existing selection.

  • Hold ALT to remove from your existing selection.

  • Hit CTRL-D to deselect/cancel your selection

2. Marquee

Marquee tool helps you make rectangular shape selection:

  • Hit M to enable marquee selection

  • Hold SHIFT to add to your existing selection.

  • Hold ALT to remove from your existing selection.

  • Hit CTRL-D to deselect/cancel your selection

After I have selected an area, what do I do?

Add Details

If you want to add details to your images like an animal, a house or an object:

  • Select the area you want to add your details

  • Input what you want to see in the prompt box like a wolf

  • Reduce Image Similarity to 0. This step is important as we want Layer to ignore the pixels under our selected area.

  • Hit Forge.

Remove Details

You may have unwanted details in your images. To remove them:

  • Select the object you want to remove from your image.

  • Clear your prompt

  • Make Image Similarity %0.

  • Hit Forge

Generate Variations

When you want to generate variations of a part of an image:

  • Select the area with Lasso or Marquee tool.

  • Describe the variations in the prompt.

  • Make Image Similarity between 10%-50%. Making it higher will results in a very similar variations.

  • Hit Forge
