Set a usage limit for one member
Last updated: October 26, 2026
Give one member their own Creative Unit limit, higher or lower than their group's, after checking what it would have meant for them.
Before you start
Usage limits are part of the Enterprise plan.
You need Manage billing and Manage workspace settings, which the Admin role has.
For how a member's own limit combines with their group limits, see Usage limits.
Steps
Open Settings and select Usage Limits under Billing. Each member's row shows the limit they are held to and where it comes from (Own limit or a group), what they have used this period, and their status: OK, Near limit or Blocked.
In the member's row, open the actions menu and choose Add own limit.
Enter how many Creative Units they may spend and pick the period under Per. Choose Block or Warn only under When it's used up, and adjust Warn at (% of the limit) if you need to. The line under the amount shows the limit they are held to now, and Impact on members shows what the new one would have meant for them last period and so far this one.
Select Set usage limit.
Result
Layer confirms that the member's limit is updated, and their row shows the new amount with Own limit under it. It replaces their group limits of the same period from now on; limits of other periods still apply alongside it. To change or lift it, open the same menu and choose Edit own monthly limit or Remove own monthly limit (named for its period). Removing it returns them to their groups' limits.
Production tips
Lower as well as raise. An own limit replaces the group's whichever way it goes, so it is how you hold a contractor below the rest of their team as well as how you give a lead more.
Add a second period for spikes. Next to a monthly limit, a daily own limit stops one heavy batch from using a month's budget in an afternoon. Choose Add own limit again and pick day.
Find who needs attention. The filter above the table shows Near or over, Blocked or No limit, and the tiles count members who are blocked, near their limit or under one.
Use groups for whole teams. When several people need the same change, change their group's limit instead. See Set a usage limit for a group.
Members can ask. Approving a member's request for more sets their own limit for you. See Answer a request for a higher usage limit.
If something goes wrong
The page says Usage limits are an Enterprise feature. Your plan does not include them. Select Contact Sales to add them.
Set usage limit stays greyed out. Creative Units must be more than zero, and Warn at (% of the limit) a whole number from 1 to 100.
Their row still shows a group's limit. An own limit replaces group limits only for its own period. Check that you picked the period the group's limit uses.
Failed to set the limit. Reload the page and try again. If it keeps failing, contact support.
