Create music
Last updated: October 11, 2026
Generate a music track from a written description of its mood, instruments and use, such as a boss-fight bed, a menu theme or an exploration loop.
Before you start
- Open the session you want the track in. Results land on that session's board.
- Each run costs Creative Units. The cost shows on the Create music button before you run, and depends on the model and the length.
Steps
In the side panel to the right of the board, click See all tools next to Tools, then click Create music in the All tools window (type music in Search tools to find it faster). The music form opens in the panel, set to a music model. If the panel shows a tool instead of the menu, click the back arrow at the top left of the panel first.
Click in the prompt box and describe the track: its use, mood, instruments and energy, for example: A loopable background track for the frozen keep: low strings, distant wind, tense but not frantic.
Check Duration under the prompt (Auto lets the model decide) and turn on Instrumental if the track must have no vocals, then click Create music, the purple button at the bottom of the panel.
Wait while the track generates. A tile appears on the board straight away and shows its progress; you can keep working while it runs.
Result
The finished track replaces the progress tile on the session's board as an audio file with its waveform, and a notice confirms the new file was added. Press play on the tile to listen. To save it, right-click the tile and choose Download.
Production tips
- Write the brief like a cue sheet. Name the game moment, the mood, the tempo or energy, the lead instruments and what to avoid: exploration, calm, slow, solo piano and soft pads, no drums. Describing the scene the track sits under works better than naming a genre alone.
- Ask for a loop, then check the loop point. Put loopable and no intro, no ending in the prompt for background beds. Before it ships, loop it in your audio tool or middleware and trim to a bar line if the join is audible.
- Make each state of a level its own run. Generate the calm, tense and combat versions from the same prompt with only the mood and energy words changed. Keeping the instruments in the prompt fixed helps the versions sound like one score.
- Need it longer? Open the track and use Extend audio to continue it past its end instead of generating a new one.
- Need stems for adaptive music? Use Separate audio stems on the result to pull an instrument out of the mix, so the engine can bring layers in and out.
- Scoring a trailer or ad? Use Add music to video on the clip instead, which generates music to fit the footage.
- Need a sound effect or ambience rather than music? Use Create sound effects, also under See all tools. Create music only offers music models.
If something goes wrong
- The track does not match the mood. Be more specific about energy and instruments, and say what to leave out. Run it a few times; each run gives a different take.
- The generation failed. The tile on the board shows the failure. Run it again; if it fails again, rephrase the prompt or change the model from the model picker at the top of the form.
- You are out of Creative Units. The run will not start. Top up from your workspace's billing settings, or ask a workspace admin.
