Create images

Last updated: October 11, 2026

Generate a new image from a written description: key art, concept art, splash screens, icons or marketing stills. Use it when you are starting from an idea rather than an image you already have.

Before you start

  • Open the session you want the image in. Results land on that session's board.
  • Each run costs Creative Units. The cost shows on the Create image button before you run, and depends on the model, the size and how many images you ask for.

Steps

  1. In the side panel to the right of the board, under Tools, click Create image. The image form opens in the panel, set to your workspace's default model, which shows at the top of the form. If the panel shows a tool instead of the menu, click the back arrow at the top left of the panel first.

  2. Click in the prompt box and describe the image. Name the subject, the setting, the light and the purpose, for example: Frostbound northern valley at dusk, snow pines, a frozen river winding to the keep, loading screen key art.

  3. Check the settings under the prompt (Aspect ratio, for example 1:1 ยท 1K, and Quality) and the number of images at the bottom left of the panel, then click Create image, the purple button at the bottom of the panel.

  4. Wait while the image generates. A tile appears on the board straight away and shows its progress; you can keep working while it runs.

Result

The finished image replaces the progress tile on the session's board, and a notice confirms the new file was added. Click View on the notice, or open the tile, to see it full-size. The form stays open in the side panel with your prompt, so you can adjust it and run again.

Production tips

  • Set the shape before you run. Pick the aspect ratio your placement needs (wide for a loading screen, square for a feed ad, tall for a phone splash) so the composition is built for it rather than cropped later. Say where empty space should go if text or UI will sit on top: clean sky on the left for the ad copy.
  • Ask for several and pick. Raise the number of images next to the Create image button to get a few takes on the same prompt in one run, then keep the strongest. Each image is charged.
  • Make a matching set in one image. For icons that must belong together (coins, gems, energy, tickets), name every item in one prompt and describe the shared style once. One run keeps the palette and rendering consistent across the set.
  • State grids exactly. For a sheet of stages or frames, give the count and layout in numbers and name each panel in order: a three by two grid of six stages: gather, charge, release, impact, spread, settle. Count the panels before you cut the sheet.
  • Tiling surfaces need it in the prompt. Ask for seamless tileable, a top-down view and even lighting, and test the result by repeating it before it goes into the engine. For ground and wall materials, the Create texture tool (under See all tools) is built for textures that tile without a seam.
  • Keep a look consistent across a project by attaching a Reference set (above the prompt) trained on your studio's art, or a Reference image (the tile at the top of the form) to steer the style of one run.
  • Finish it for the build. Open the result and use Upscale image for a higher-resolution master, Reframe image to extend it to another aspect ratio, or Remove image background for a cutout.

If something goes wrong

  • The image ignores part of the prompt. Put the most important elements first and cut adjectives that compete. If one model keeps missing it, pick another from the model picker at the top of the form.
  • The composition is cropped or the wrong shape. Set the aspect ratio before you run. To fix an image you like, use Reframe image on it rather than generating again.
  • The generation failed. The tile on the board shows the failure. Run it again; if it fails again, rephrase the prompt or change the model.
  • You are out of Creative Units. The run will not start. Top up from your workspace's billing settings, or ask a workspace admin.
