Run a skill with a slash command

Last updated: October 12, 2026

Run any skill in your workspace on purpose by typing / and its name in the chat, so the agent follows it for that message even if it would not have loaded it on its own. Use it for procedures you start deliberately, such as an export routine, an art review or a release checklist.

Before you start

  • The skill needs instructions. Skills without any are not listed.
  • You can run any skill in the workspace this way, whatever its loading mode and wherever it applies. Manual skills can only be run this way.

Steps

  1. In a session's chat, type / at the start of the message or after a space. A menu lists the workspace's skills, grouped by where they apply.

  2. Pick the skill, or keep typing its name to narrow the list. It is added to your message as a chip.

  3. Write the rest of the request and send it.

  4. The reply lists the skill under Preloaded skills. Hover its pill to confirm you invoked it for this message.

Result

The agent reads the skill's full instructions for that message and follows them, whichever agent handles the chat. The chip stays in the composer after you send, so your next message runs the skill again. Delete the chip when the next message is about something else.

You can also add a skill from Add to prompt (the + in the composer), then Skills. That menu lists the skills that apply to the session. The same / menu works in the composer on Home, before a session exists.

Production tips

  • Make procedures Manual. Checklists and routines you start on purpose (/art-review, /store-assets, /sprite-export) should not load by themselves in the middle of other work.
  • Put the inputs in the same message: attach the batch, name the character, say which stores. A manual skill's instructions can ask the agent to check for anything missing before it starts.
  • Run a skill against what is already on the board: "/art-review the six icons on the board" reviews them without attaching them again.
  • Combine with automatic skills. A /sprite-export run in the game's project still follows the project's art bible, because both apply.

If something goes wrong

  • Typing / does nothing. The menu opens only at the start of the message or after a space. If it still does not open, the workspace has no skills with instructions, or your role cannot view skills.
  • The skill you want is not in the menu. It has no instructions yet. Open it on the Skills page and write them.
  • The agent did not follow part of the skill. Check its instructions for vague wording, and give numbers instead of adjectives. Say in your message which step to repeat.
