Generate videos in a workflow

Last updated: October 12, 2026

Add the Generate Video node to make video clips from a prompt, a first frame or both as one step of a workflow, for example to animate every image an earlier step made.

Before you start

  • Open the workflow on its canvas. Your changes are saved as a private draft until you publish; see Build and publish a workflow.
  • Durations, sizes, Last Frame, reference inputs and Generate Audio depend on the model; the node shows only what the model supports. See Choose a model.

Steps

  1. Click Generators in the toolbar at the bottom of the canvas and drag Generate Video onto the canvas.

  2. Click Advanced on the node and drag from your image's output to First Frame, so the clip starts from that image. Advanced also holds Last Frame, Duration (seconds) and Generate Audio when the model supports them.

  3. Type the motion in the node's Prompt, for example "Slow turntable: she turns in place, the camera holds still".

  4. Select the node and click Run in the toolbar above it, which shows the cost. The node shows Running while it works.

  5. When it finishes, the clip shows on the node. Click Play to watch it.

Result

The clips appear on the node and under Runs and outputs. Connect Generated Video to Video Editor, Stitch Videos or another video node, or pick it as a workflow output.

Production tips

  • Match the first frame to the video size. A first frame with a different aspect ratio is cropped or stretched. Generate the images at the size you want the video to be.
  • Chain shots. Follow the node with Extract Frame set to Last and feed that frame into the First Frame of the next Generate Video, so each clip starts where the last one ended.
  • Describe motion, not the picture. With a first frame connected, the image already sets the look. Use the prompt for what moves and how the camera moves.
  • Watch the multiplier. Every first frame, and every last frame, is a separate clip, and longer clips cost more. Test with one image and a short duration.

If something goes wrong

  • Duration offers only a few values. The list is the durations the model supports. Pick another model for other lengths.
  • There is no Last Frame or audio option. The model does not support it. Pick a model that does.
  • The clip is cropped or distorted. The first frame's aspect ratio does not match the video size. Match them, or leave the size for the model to choose.
