Filter the asset library

Last updated: October 12, 2026

Cut a large library down to the files you need: generated or uploaded, used lately or not, by kind, by who made them, by label or by score.

Steps

  1. In the sidebar, click Asset Library. The rail on the right holds search and sort at the top and the Filters below them.

  2. In the bar under Filters, choose Generated to keep what was made in Layer, or Uploaded to keep what was brought in. All shows both.

  3. Open Used within and choose a window, for example Past 7 days, to keep only the files you used as an input to a run in that time.

  4. Under Type, tick the kinds of file you want, for example Video. Tick more than one to see them together. The link under the list (Show 9 more) brings out the rest of the kinds.

  5. To start over, click the reset arrow beside Filters (Reset filters). The whole library comes back.

Result

The grid shows only the files that pass every filter you set, and the count above it says how many. A purple badge beside Filters counts the filters that are on. The filters are part of the page address, so a link you copy opens the same filtered library for a teammate.

What each filter does

Filters combine: a file must match every filter you set. Within Type, Created by, Label and Score, ticking several values keeps files that match any of them. A filter only appears when it has something to tell apart, so a workspace with no uploads shows no Source bar.

Source

All, Generated or Uploaded. Generated files were made by a tool, a workflow or the agent, edits included; uploaded files were brought in from outside.

Favorited

A switch that keeps the files you marked with the heart on their tile (Add to favorites). Favorites are yours: teammates' hearts do not show here.

Used within

Show all, or a window from Past hour to Past 90 days. Keeps the files you used as an input to a run (a tool, a workflow, a brief for the agent, a reference set) in that time. See Find your recent work.

Type

The kind of file: Image, Video, 3D, Audio, Playable, World, Pose, Safetensors, Spine, PBR Material, Font and Other. Hover one to see what it covers. See Assets in Layer.

Created by

Who added the file. It starts with You; the link under it (Show 3 more in a team of four) lists your teammates, and the search icon finds one by name. It does not appear in a workspace with a single member.

Label

The labels your team has put on files. Tick one to see everything that carries it. See Label your assets and filter by label.

Score

Good, Middling or Poor, for workspaces that score their assets against quality rules. Hover a band to see the range of scores it covers.

Sort

The menu at the top of the rail orders the grid by Created (newest first, the default), Used (the file you used last first), Name or Score. While you search, it switches to Relevance, best match first.

Production tips

  • Search inside a filter. Type part of a name in Search items... with filters on: the search runs inside them, so ranger with Video ticked finds only the ranger's clips.
  • Review what came back from a batch. Source on Generated, sort by Created, and select the keepers to label them approved in one go.
  • Find reference material. Source on Uploaded and Type on Image leaves the concept art, photos and paintovers your team brought in.
  • Save the filters you reuse. A set you check every day belongs in a saved view; see Save a library view.
  • Work inside a project. The project switcher at the top of the sidebar scopes the whole library, filters included. Choose the project first, then filter.

If something goes wrong

  • The grid says "No items match your filters." Every file is ruled out by at least one filter. Click Clear filters, then add them back one at a time.
  • A filter you expect is missing. Source, Favorited and Score appear only when the library has more than one value to choose between, and Created by only with more than one member.
  • A file you know is there does not show. Check the project switcher: with a project chosen, you only see its files. Set it to All projects to search the workspace.
