Label your assets and filter by label

Last updated: October 11, 2026

Tag assets that belong together, such as one character's poses or this week's marketing picks, then filter the library down to that label whenever you need them.

Steps

  1. Open Asset Library from the sidebar.

  2. Hold ⌘ (Ctrl on Windows) and click each asset you want to label. The selection bar at the top shows how many you have picked, for example 2 selected.

  3. In the selection bar, click the tag icon (Label selected). In the list that opens, click the label to apply, or type in Search or create label… to find one or make a new one. The list stays open so you can apply more than one label; press Esc to close it, and Esc again to clear the selection.

  4. In the LABEL section of the filters on the right, click the label. The grid narrows to the assets that carry it.

Result

Each labelled asset shows a tag icon with a count of its labels in the corner of its tile. With the label picked in the filters, the library shows only those assets, and the FILTERS heading counts the filters in use.

Production tips

  • Agree on a short label set. One label per character, environment or feature, plus a few for status (Approved, Key art), keeps the filter list scannable. Create them up front so artists pick from the list instead of inventing near-duplicates.
  • Combine filters. A label together with TYPE (Image, Video, 3D) or a search term narrows a large library fast, for example every approved 3D prop for one level.
  • Save the filter you keep reapplying. Save as new view at the top of the filters keeps the label and the other filters as a view you can return to.
  • Label as work comes in. Labelling a batch right after a generation run is quicker than sorting a full library later.
  • Labels and projects do different jobs. A project scopes the whole app to one game or initiative; labels sort what is inside it. Use both.

If something goes wrong

  • The tag icon is not in the selection bar. Nothing is selected. Hold ⌘ or Ctrl and click at least one asset.
  • A label went on by mistake. Select the asset, open Label selected again and click the label to take it off.
  • The grid is empty after picking a label. Another filter, such as TYPE or Used within, is also narrowing the grid. Clear the other filters, or reset them from the FILTERS heading.
  • A label you expect is missing from the filters. Type its name in Search or create label… to check its spelling; if it does not exist, create it from there.
