Plans and what they include
Last updated: October 11, 2026
The ways to pay for Layer, who each one fits, and what Enterprise adds. For prices and unit amounts, see layer.ai/pricing.
Layer has no seat fees and no feature tiers between self-serve plans: every workspace gets the same models and tools, and you pay for what you generate in Creative Units (CUs). A plan decides how you buy those units and what account and security controls come with them.
No subscription
Fits: trying Layer, or occasional work.
Generate with units you buy as one-time packages (Buy Credits on the Billing page) or earn from Rewards. Packages are credited immediately and do not renew. You keep your library and history whether or not you hold units.
Subscription
Fits: artists and studios producing every month.
A monthly or annual subscription for an amount of units you choose. Units cost less than one-time packages, a share of unused units rolls over to the next period, and you can add a one-time package when you run short. Change the amount or billing cycle from Manage Subscription. Unlimited members share the workspace's units.
Enterprise
Fits: organizations with several studios, procurement processes or identity and compliance requirements.
A custom plan agreed with our sales team. Units are arranged with sales rather than bought in the app, and the Current Plan card on the Billing page shows an Enterprise badge.
On any other plan, Security in workspace settings shows SSO and SCIM under Upgrade to Enterprise. To move to Enterprise, contact sales; the Enterprise page lists the full offer.
What Enterprise adds
Single sign-on with your identity provider
SAML or OIDC, for example Okta or Microsoft Entra ID. Every workspace can sign in with Google; connecting your own provider is Enterprise. See Set up single sign-on.
User provisioning with SCIM
People join and leave the workspace from your identity provider. See Set up user provisioning with SCIM.
Contract billing
Annual agreements, invoicing and purchase orders, and billing across several workspaces or cost centers.
Dedicated support
A service-level agreement, custom data retention and MSA review as part of procurement.
Choosing
- Look at what your workspace has spent before you pick a subscription amount: see See what your workspace has spent. The pricing calculator estimates a month from the assets you plan to make.
- Only workspace admins with billing access can subscribe, buy units or change a plan. Other members are asked to contact an admin when units run low.
- Cancelling a subscription keeps your assets and history; generating then needs units from a one-time package or rewards.
