Edit videos in a workflow

Last updated: October 12, 2026

Add the Edit Video node to change existing clips with a prompt as one step of a workflow, for example to restyle footage or swap an object while keeping the motion.

Before you start

  • Open the workflow on its canvas. Your changes are saved as a private draft until you publish; see Build and publish a workflow.
  • The node needs at least one video to edit and a prompt, and a model that accepts a source video. Each model limits the clip length and how many editing references it takes.

Steps

  1. Click Editors in the toolbar at the bottom of the canvas and drag Edit Video onto the canvas.

  2. Drag from your clip's output to the node's Video to Edit input.

  3. Type the change in the node's Prompt, for example "Turn the purple magic into frost blue, keep everything else".

  4. Select the node and click Run in the toolbar above it, which shows the cost. The node shows Running while it works.

  5. When it finishes, the edited clip shows on the node. Click Play to watch it.

Result

The edited clips appear on the node and under Runs and outputs, at the source video's size unless you set Size. Connect Generated Video onward, or pick it as a workflow output.

Production tips

  • Trim first. Put Trim Video before the node to keep only the part you want to change; shorter clips cost less and stay within the model's limit.
  • Show, then tell. Add an image of the new object or look under Editing References and describe the change in the prompt.
  • Test on one clip. Every prompt and every video is a separate edit. Run one before connecting a whole set.

If something goes wrong

  • The selected base model does not take a source video. Pick a model made for editing video.
  • Only N editing references are supported. The model takes fewer references than you connected. Remove some.
  • The run fails asking for prompts or videos. Both are required: connect a video to Video to Edit and give the node a prompt.
