Managing workspace members

Invite teammates, set their permission level, suspend or remove them — and connect SSO/SCIM (Okta) for enterprise provisioning.

The Members page is where admins manage who has access to a workspace and what they can do. Find it under Settings → Team → Members.

Invite a member

Click Invite Member, enter the person's email address, choose a role, and send. They'll get an invitation email to join the workspace.

Permission levels

Every member has a role that controls what they can see and do. Layer offers six:

  • Admin — full control, including workspace settings and managing members

  • Settings Admin — manage workspace settings

  • Art Director — senior creative access

  • Editor — create and edit across the workspace

  • Artist — create and edit their own work

  • Member — standard access

To change someone's permission level, use the Role dropdown on their row in the members list — pick a new role and it updates immediately.

Suspend or remove a member

Each member row shows a Status (Active or Suspended) and a ⋯ Actions menu. Use the Actions menu to remove a member from the workspace (or suspend their access). Removing a member revokes their access right away.
