Your Layer workspace
Last updated: October 11, 2026
Your workspace is where your studio's work lives in Layer: everything your team makes, the styles it trains and the pipelines it saves. The sidebar on the left takes you to each part of it. This page walks through them so you know where to look.
How it works
Each area below is one entry in the sidebar.
Home
Where you start. Describe what you want to the agent in the box at the top, or open a tool directly from Tools underneath it (See all tools lists every one). Starting either way opens a new session.
Asset Library
Every image, video, 3D model and sound the workspace has made or uploaded, in one place. Search it, filter it, and open any asset to see the prompt and model that made it.
Reference Sets
Collections of your own artwork that teach Layer a style or a character, so generations stay on-model. Use them when you generate by adding them to a tool's Reference set slot.
Workflows
Saved multi-step pipelines your team can run again with new inputs, such as a turnaround sheet or a batch of icons.
Skills
Written instructions the agent follows, such as your house style or the rules for in-game icons, so everyone on the team gets the same results without repeating the brief.
Sessions
A session is a working space for one piece of work: a board you can arrange freely, plus the tools and the agent in the panel beside it. Your most recent sessions are listed in the sidebar; All opens the full list, and + starts a new one.
The rest of the sidebar
- All projects, at the top, switches between projects. Pick one and the library, sessions and other lists narrow to that project's work.
- The search icon opens a search across the workspace, and the bell opens your inbox.
- The workspace menu at the bottom shows your Creative Units balance and lets you switch workspaces. Admins open Workspace Settings from it to manage members, groups, sign-in and usage.
- Help & Resources opens help for the page you are on, this help center, and a way to contact us.
What it means for you
- Assets you make go to the workspace's Asset Library, so teammates can find them without you sending files around.
- Use projects to keep a game or a feature's work together, so the lists stay short. See Organize work into projects.
- Start a new session for each piece of work (a character, a trailer, an icon set) so each board stays readable and is easy to find again.
