Organize work into projects

Last updated: October 11, 2026

Create a project for a game, a season or a feature, and add the library assets that belong to it. While you work inside the project, the library, sessions, reference sets and workflows show only what is in it.

Before you start

  • The assets you want to add are already in your workspace's library. You can also upload new files straight into the project once it exists.

Steps

  1. Open the project switcher at the top of the sidebar (it reads All projects when no project is active) and choose Browse all projects. The Projects page lists every project you can open.

  2. Click Create Project and type a name in Name. Add a Description if teammates need context on what the project holds.

  3. Click Create Project in the dialog. The new project appears in the list.

  4. Click the project's tile to open it. The switcher in the sidebar now shows the project's name, and every page you visit is scoped to it, starting with Home.

  5. Go to Asset Library. A new project starts empty, so click Add files to project to open a picker with every file in the workspace.

  6. Click the first asset you want, then hold ⌘ (Ctrl on Windows) and click each of the others. Click Select 2 assets (the label counts what you picked).

Result

A confirmation reads Added 2 files to this project, and the assets appear in the project's Asset Library. They are linked, not moved or copied: the same files still show in the library when you switch back to All projects, and a file can belong to more than one project.

Production tips

  • One project per shipping unit. A game, a live-ops season or a store launch makes a clean boundary. Teams that split by asset type (characters, UI, VFX) usually find labels a better fit for that, inside the project.
  • Work from inside the project. While the switcher shows the project, files you upload to its Asset Library join it automatically, so new work lands in the right place without a second step.
  • Add from the main library in bulk. In All projects, select assets in the Asset Library and use the folder icon in the selection bar (Manage projects) to add them to one or more projects at once.
  • Bring in reference sets and workflows too. Their pages carry the same Add action when a project is active, so the styles and pipelines a team relies on sit next to the assets they produce.
  • Something already in the project? The picker still shows it, marked In project, so you can confirm it is there without hunting through the project.
  • Clean up without deleting. Remove from project on a tile, or in the selection bar, unlinks an asset from the project and leaves it in the library.

If something goes wrong

  • You cannot find an asset you added. Check the switcher at the top of the sidebar. If it reads All projects, you are looking at the whole workspace; pick the project to see only its files.
  • An asset cannot be selected in the picker. It is marked In project because it is already linked. Nothing more to do.
  • There is no Add files to project button. It appears only while a project is active. Open the project from the switcher or the Projects page first.
  • A project opens on its settings instead of its work. The project has been archived or deleted. Its contents stay readable there, but it takes no new work; ask a project admin to unarchive it.
