Analyze your Google Ads campaigns in chat

Last updated: October 11, 2026

Connect your Google Ads account and ask the agent about your own campaigns, ad groups, ads and keywords: spend, impressions, clicks and conversions, so you can see what is working before you brief the next creative.

Before you start

  • A Layer admin connects Google Ads, signing in with a Google account that has access to the ad accounts you want to analyze. Accounts under a manager (MCC) account work too.
  • Once connected, anyone in the workspace who chats with the agent can ask about those accounts. Connect only accounts the whole workspace may see.
  • The agent reads your account; it does not create, edit or pause anything in Google Ads.

Steps

  1. Open the workspace menu, choose Workspace Settings, then select Connectors under Integrations.

  2. Under Advertising & UA, click Connect on Google Ads, then Continue with Google Ads, and approve access in the Google window.

  3. Open a chat with the agent and ask about your campaigns, for example: "Which of my Google Ads campaigns had the most conversions in the last 14 days, and what did each cost?"

Result

The agent finds the accounts the connection can see, queries the campaigns, ad groups, ads or keywords you asked about, and answers with the figures it pulled.

What to ask

  • "Show spend, clicks and conversions by campaign for last month."
  • "Which ad groups in the app install campaign have the lowest cost per conversion?"
  • "Which keywords drove the most clicks this week?"

Production tips

  • Name the account when you have several. The agent can see every account the connection reaches; say which game or region you mean.
  • Use relative periods. "Last 7 days" or "last month" maps exactly onto Google Ads' own ranges. Give calendar dates when you need a specific window.
  • Compare channels in one chat. With Meta or other ad accounts connected too, ask for the same metric across channels side by side.

If something goes wrong

  • The agent cannot reach Google Ads. Google Ads is not connected, or its access lapsed. An admin can connect or reauthorize it in Connectors.
  • An account is missing or refuses access. The Google account that connected cannot see it, or reaches it only through a manager account. Grant that Google account access to the ad account, then reauthorize.
  • Numbers differ from the Google Ads dashboard. Check the date range and the conversion actions counted. Ask the agent which period and metrics it used.
